The text of the new constitution of Armenia is in the development phase, minister of justice Srbuhi Galyan told reporters in the National Assembly Wednesday.

“In the near future, we will discuss the text with the members of the council. We are discussing different options, but the text is still in the development phase. I always note that the text will be ready within ten months.

We have not discussed the timeframe when it will be put to a referendum. When the text is ready, we will of course submit separate conceptual provisions to the public opinion and discuss in great detail what it is about.

There is no reason and opportunity to keep the text of the new constitution behind the scenes. When I am asked questions—‘Why don't you say, why don't you say?’—I always say: ‘Of course we will say because in the end result, the people will vote ‘for or against’ the adoption of the new constitution," added the minister of justice of Armenia.
