The Zhoghovurd newspaper of Armenia writes as follows, in particular: The upcoming presidential elections of Artsakh [(Nagorno-Karabakh)] may lead to serious culminating changes. Despite the fact that the Artsakh political team is nominating and searching for [presidential] candidates, the team of current President Samvel Shahramanyan is not going to "give way."

According to the Zhoghovurd daily’s information, the factions of the Artsakh National Assembly will soon make a statement. They are inclined to the idea of ensuring [that] Samvel Shahramanyan does not give way and retains his office. The Artsakh wing is attempting to ensure that the changes made in the Artsakh government do not divide the Artsakh Armenians. Meanwhile, the wing directed by the CC-s [i.e. the ruling Civil Contract Party of Armenia and its parliamentary faction] is attempting to create division among Artsakh Armenians.

Let us recall that the term of office of the 5th President of the Republic of Artsakh will end on May 21, 2025.

On May 21, the MPs of the National Assembly of Artsakh are to elect a new president.
