Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II on Friday visited Victory Park in Yerevan on the occasion of the Victory and Peace Day, laid flowers, and offered prayers to God.

“On this sacred day of commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Great Patriotic War, the liberation of Shushi [city of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh)], and the establishment of the [Artsakh] Defense Army, on the Victory and Peace Day, we, together with our clergy, prayed in front of the Eternal Flame for the brave [Armenian] sons who died in the Patriotic War and the Artsakh struggle, and for the captured Armenians being held in Baku [i.e. the capital of Azerbaijan] and their loved ones. (…). On this occasion, we extend our congratulations to our beloved people on this sacred day,” the Catholicos of All Armenians told reporters.
