Tehran is waiting for the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Iran is preparing for his arrival, Iranian government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani told RIA Novosti.

"Putin's visit to Tehran is currently in the development phase, preparatory work is underway," Mohajerani said.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi had said after talks in Moscow in mid-April that Tehran expects Putin's visit to Iran in 2025. In addition to meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, the Iranian FM then had held talks with the Russian president.
