The investigation data into the crash of the Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) passenger plane near Aktau have not been publicized, informed the Main Transport Prosecutor's Office of Kazakhstan.

"Currently, all measures are being taken to ensure a comprehensive, full, and objective investigation of the circumstances of the case. In accordance with Article 201 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the investigation data are not subject to publicizing," the respective statement said.

The aforesaid passenger plane had crashed on the morning of December 25, 2024 in Aktau, Kazakhstan. The plane was flying from Grozny, Russia to Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. Shortly before the plane crash, the crew had requested an emergency landing in Aktau. There were 62 passengers and five crew members on board. Solely 27 passengers and two crew members had survived the crash.

On February 19, 2025, Kazakhstan's deputy minister of transport Talgat Lastayev had announced that the final report of the investigation into this plane crash will be submitted by December.
