Cyprus supports the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan. This was announced by the speaker of the Cypriot parliament—the House of Representatives—Annita Demetriou, at a joint press conference with the speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, in Yerevan on Monday.

Also, Demetriou expressed hope that the agreed points in the aforesaid peace treaty will be implemented.

According to Demetriou, the peace treaty will also help Armenia's accession to the European Union.

"When there is peace, every country prospers and develops," added the speaker of the Cypriot parliament.
