Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan hosted a delegation led by the speaker of the House of Representatives—i.e. the parliament—of Cyprus, Annita Demetriou, the PM’s office informs.

Pashinyan welcomed Demetriou’s visit to Armenia, emphasizing that Cyprus is a friendly country for Armenia, and deep historical, cultural, and value ties have been formed with Cyprus. In this context, the premier of Armenia underscored the continued development of bilateral political dialogue, as well as the deepening of parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.

Annita Demetriou, for her part, reaffirmed Cyprus’s support for Armenia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and democratic reforms.

During the meeting, a number of matters on the agenda of Armenia-Cyprus bilateral cooperation were discussed, including the development of economic ties, investment opportunities, and the expansion of multi-sectoral cooperation.

The interlocutors discussed several matters on the regional and international agenda as well, and touched upon developments of shared interest and opportunities for cooperation.

Furthermore, they exchanged views on developments related to the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process, and in this context, the importance of establishing peace and maintaining stability in the South Caucasus was emphasized.
