Russia is the main trading partner of Armenia’s economy, an investor, and a reliable guarantor of Armenia's energy and food security, and these agreements remain in full force, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, on Wednesday.

"I agree with the high assessment of the rhythmic work of the intergovernmental commission, which guides the state, government structures and businesses of Russia and Armenia.

The results of last year are impressive. We must proceed from them and move towards further expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation.

The EAEU is becoming more efficient and self-sufficient, demonstrating stability and efficiency against the backdrop of turbulent events in the global market. Expanding cooperation on the CIS platform also seems relevant.

Speaking about various integration structures, we [i.e. Russia] are interested in Armenia's active engagement in prospective processes that are taking place both within the framework of the SCO [i.e. the Shanghai Cooperation Organization] and under the auspices of BRICS," the Russian FM added.
