Past daily of Armenia writes as follows, in particular: Rybar.ru (…) writes that [Armenian PM] Nikol Pashinyan has participated in the European Political Community (EPC) summit held in Tirana, where Yerevan was promised economic integration, infrastructure and peaceful settlement.

Pashinyan met with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Antonio Costa. European officials supported the course of Armenia's rapprochement with the EU and discussed the matters of economic integration. Also, von der Leyen said that the EU will continue to encourage democratic reforms in Armenia.

The EU leaders also support the wish of the Armenian authorities to sign a peace agreement with Baku as soon as possible. (…) the real vector of Yerevan's policy is aimed at rapprochement with the EU, while the last "turn" toward Russia is linked to the preservation of regular economic ties in the near future. The Armenian government is already trying to promote the idea that Armenia allegedly can become "Bridge between the EU and the EEU," which is impossible, taking into account the strong anti-Russian policy of Brussels.

At the same time, Pashinyan's short but meaningless conversations with [Azerbaijani president] Aliyev and [Turkish president] Erdogan [during the EPC) summit] were clearly organized to present the EU summit as a new platform for resolving the conflict. However, none of the parties addressed the real problems: the continued shelling of Armenian territories, the detention of Armenian prisoners of war in [Azerbaijani capital] Baku, and the genocide that occurred in Artsakh [(Nagorno-Karabakh)]. Thus, the EU is again pushing the parties without concrete decisions’ agreements.
