The Armenian government, at its Cabinet session Thursday, did not approve the draft amendments to the Criminal Code proposed by the opposition "Armenia" Faction in the National Assembly, which proposes to criminalize the denial of the Armenian Genocide.

This draft proposes to establish a fine in the amount of 100 to 300 times the minimum monthly wage, or community service for 150-250 hours, or incarceration for a period of one month to 4 years for the denial of the Armenian Genocide.

The government noted that the amendments proposed by this draft were inexpedient.
