The peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan has many components, and one of them is the economic relationship between the countries of the region. But the project also provides an opportunity for other countries to be involved in the process. This was stated by Armen Grigoryan, Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, during a panel discussion within the framework of the Yerevan Dialogue 2025 international forum Monday in the Armenian capital.

The Crossroads of Peace initiative presented by the Armenian government is an economic project, the aim of which is to unblock the communications of the South Caucasus region, create connectivity in the region, and increase connectivity in order to promote peace and stability in the region, Grigoryan said.

He added that it is important to Armenia that this unblocking takes place on the basis of the sovereignty and jurisdiction of the countries of the region, which is also very important in the context of peace.

In the context of unblocking, Armenia consider the principles of equality and reciprocity to be very important because these are the main principles that create opportunities for everyone, not individual countries, Grigoryan said.

Now Armenia is implementing many projects that are part of the Crossroads of Peace. For example, the construction of the North-South highway, which is very important in terms of connectivity, but also implies the development of Armenia's infrastructure. The Armenian government has been intensively investing in Armenia's infrastructure over the past few years, bringing it to such a level that it has the opportunity to interconnect with regional infrastructure. Armenia invites regional countries and the global community to get involved in this process and invest in peace in the region, concluded the secretary of the Security Council of Armenia.
