A plaque dedicated to the memory of French Admiral Louis Dartige du Fournet, who had extended a helping hand to the Armenians of Musa Dagh in 1915, was unveiled at the memorial wall of the Armenian Genocide Memorial in Yerevan.

French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noel Barrot, who is in Armenia on an official visit, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, and French ambassador to Armenia Olivier Decottignies also attended the unveiling ceremony.

In his remarks at the event, the French FM expressed gratitude for the decision to forever link the memory of Louis Dartige du Fournet with the memory of the victims of the  Armenian Genocide.

And the Armenian FM emphasized that this event is a tribute to the aforesaid French admiral, as well as to others who had performed the same feat, and of course, to France, which became a home for thousands of Armenians.
