Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan met with his Hungarian colleague, Peter Szijjarto. The meeting was held first in a private format, then in an expanded format.

The interlocutors discussed matters on the bilateral agenda, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am. Both parties noted with satisfaction the results achieved in the development of bilateral relations through joint efforts in the recent past, and expressed hope that the opening of diplomatic missions in the capitals of the two countries will serve as an additional impetus for the development of their cooperation.

The foreign ministers of Armenia and Hungary touched upon various initiatives, including documents to be signed in sectoral domains, as well as the program to host Armenian children forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh and their accompanying persons in Hungary as part of the assistance.

Ararat Mirzoyan and Peter Szijjarto discussed as well the priorities of Armenia-EU cooperation and the joint steps aimed at deepening the partnership.

Regional security issues were also reflected on. In this connection, FM Mirzoyan emphasized the efforts being made in the process of establishing peace in the South Caucasus, including the signing of a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
