Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan on Tuesday met with the director of Political Affairs and External Relations of the Council of Europe (CoE), Miroslav Papa, on the margins of the Yerevan Dialogue international forum in the Armenian capital.

The parties agreed that the cooperation of Armenia within the CoE contributes to the country's democratic progress, and noted with satisfaction the effectiveness of the implementation of the CoE 2023-2026 Action Plan assisting Armenia to further promote its reform agenda aimed at strengthening the protection of human rights and the rule of law.

In the context of Armenia's efforts to establish peace in the South Caucasus, the deputy FM emphasized the imperativeness to sign and ratify without delay the agreed text of the draft of the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and to intensify the support of international partners in this regard.

While touching upon the regional challenges, the interlocutors discussed the humanitarian issues, emphasizing the urgent need to address them.
