A meeting between the presidents of the United States, Russia, and Ukraine could take place in Istanbul, Turkey under the “chairmanship” of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said.

“We [i.e. Turkey] sincerely believe that the first and second rounds of direct talks [between Russia and Ukraine] to be held in Istanbul could be followed by a meeting between [US President Donald] Trump, [Russian President Vladimir] Putin, and [Ukrainian President] Volodymyr Zelenskyy under the chairmanship of Erdogan,” Fidan said during a visit to Kyiv, where he will meet with the Ukrainian leader.

Shortly before that, he had visited Moscow.
