YEREVAN. - President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan signed a decree on establishing a Committee on Ethics of High Ranking Officials.
The committee has already conveyed the first meeting to elect Emil Babayan its head.
President Sargsyan held a meeting with committee members on Tuesday to present his view on its work.
According to President, committee’s goal is to raise society’s confidence in the public institutions functioning in Armenia and introduction of an institute of fair governance, as well as making work of officials more transparent for public.
The committee will focus on analysis of income and property declaration submitted by the officials, public discussion of cases of violating ethics and other functions.
