Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan on Monday met with Anaclaudia Rossbach, Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Program (UN-Habitat), on the margins of the Hamburg Sustainability Conference.

During the meeting, prospects for expanding the engagement of Armenia within the framework of UN-Habitat were touched upon, informs the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia. The deputy FM emphasized the importance Armenia attaches to sustainable and green urban and rural development. In this context, the parties highlighted the importance of experience-sharing and joint initiatives with UN-Habitat in transportation, infrastructure, engineering systems, and energy-efficient housing.

The interlocutors exchanged views also on prospective cooperation in the context of the 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17), to be hosted by Armenia in 2026.

Also, the deputy FM briefed his colleague on the ongoing efforts by Armenia to address the short- and mid-term needs of forcibly displaced Armenians from Nagorno-Karabakh, emphasizing the importance of international support in this regard.
