An earthquake struck southern Turkey Tuesday, killing a teen girl and injuring 69 others, interior minister Ali Yerlikaya informed in a statement.

The tremors were recorded at 2:17am near the resort district of Marmaris of Mugla Province.

The epicenter of the quake was located at a depth of 67 kilometers.

According to the interior minister, the tremors were felt in Mugla and several other provinces, but no damage was reported.

“Afranur Gunlu, 14, in Fethiye [district of Mugla Province] had a panic attack at the time of the earthquake and was hospitalized, but she could not be saved,” Yerlikaya added.
