NATO member countries are discussing the need to review their vulnerabilities after Ukraine's drone attack on several Russian airports, a defense official from one of the alliance's European countries has said, reports The New York Times (NYT).

In addition, several analysts have noted in the wake of the June 1 attack by Ukraine that drones pose a serious threat to military bases, which could be attacked at any time.

James Patton Rogers, head of the Cornell University research program, stressed that the numerous military bases of major countries in Africa and the Middle East are particularly vulnerable due to the situation in those regions.

Ukraine's recent massive drone attack on the airports of several Russian cities, however, will not prevent Russia from continuing its offensive operations, NYT wrote.
