A trilateral meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin, US President Donald Trump, and Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelenskyy is unlikely in the near future. Such contacts should be the result of technical agreements, Russian presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters, according to TASS.

“Well, to be honest, it is unlikely that this will happen soon,” the Kremlin spox said, commenting on the White House’s statement that Trump is open to such a trilateral meeting.

Peskov recalled that Putin has repeatedly spoken of his readiness for contacts at the highest level, “while emphasizing that these contacts should be the result of agreements that will already be worked out at the technical level, at the expert level.”

"Therefore, President Putin supports the idea of contacts, but believes that they should be well prepared," added the Russian presidential spokesperson.
