The summit of the heads of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) member countries will be held in the capital of Tajikistan, Dushanbe, on October 10, CIS Secretary General Sergey Lebedev announced.

"The final and most important events within the framework of Tajikistan's chairmanship in the CIS will be held in Dushanbe on October 10. This is the summit of the heads of the CIS member states," Lebedev said at the press briefing after Thursday’s meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government, in Dushanbe.

According to him, the aforesaid summit will be preceded by the meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of CIS member states.

In addition, Lebedev noted the successful chairmanship of Tajikistan in the CIS.

To note, Armenia also is a member in the Commonwealth of Independent States.
