Hraparak daily of Armenia writes: [PM] Nikol Pashinyan is determined in the task of ousting the His Holiness [i.e. Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II], and they say at the CC [i.e. the ruling Civil Contract Party and its parliamentary faction] that he “will not give up” until Karekin II leaves [his office as Catholicos] voluntarily. He [i.e. Pashinyan] has decided to continue the [social media] posts targeting the [Armenian Apostolic] church’s servants on a daily basis, especially since he saw that the church is not taking reciprocal steps.

If he does not achieve what he wants through blackmail, he may proceed to other practical steps. The authorities’ team says that they have compromising materials—even videos—against some of the [Armenian Apostolic Church] clergy, and they will not hesitate to publicize them.

Although it is not ruled that there is no compromising material, according to the custom, they disseminate edited videos and fake information, and now they are attempting to “spread fear” with that news. By the way, a few days ago, after a meeting with YSU [(Yerevan State University)] students, one of the students had stated that Nikol Pashinyan told them that he has given an instruction to the special services to provide him with information about Karekin II's violation of [his oath to] celibacy—something that a person holding the position of prime minister does not have the right to do, and demanding such materials about someone else's private life by abuse of office is a criminally punishable act.
