Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims' Board, Allahshukur Pashazade, does not want to meet with Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II, he told journalists, Azerbaijani media report.

“I do not consider it appropriate to meet with Karekin. Karekin has taken on a political character in addition to his religious role. It is not right for a religious figure to get involved in politics to such an extent. Therefore, I currently have no plans to meet with him,” Pashazade said.

“We are not interested in Armenia’s attitude towards the restoration of the Yerevan Qaziyat [i.e. a Muslim religious branch],” he added.

“In subsequent periods, the activities of the Yerevan Qaziyat were suspended due to the expulsion of Azerbaijanis from Yerevan. We hope to return to our lands again. If the Qaziyat continues its activities here today, we believe that it will soon operate in those lands as well," Pashazade said, clearly believing that he can get involved in politics.

Allahshukur Pashazade is a well-known corrupt figure who has repeatedly "stood out" with his absurd statements about Armenians.
