The complete reconstruction of the Zovuni, Ararat-2, and Shinuhayr 220 kV high-voltage substations is in the final phase. This was announced on June 9 at a joint session of the parliament’s standing committees, The Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Davit Khudatyan, stated this during the debates on the report on the implementation of the 2024 state budget of Armenia at Monday’s joint meeting of the standing committees of the parliament.

They have already been connected to Armenia’s electricity supply grid and are in full operation, Khudatyan added.

Separately, the construction of the 400 kV overhead power line and the Iran-Armenia substation is in an active phase.

“It must be said that about 80 percent of the work has already been completed,” assured the territorial administration and infrastructure minister.

Also, he informed the completion of the construction of the Masrik-1 solar photovoltaic plant.

“The capacity of the plant is 55 megawatts. It has already been connected to the [energy] grid [of Armenia] for testing purposes," concluded Davit Khudatyan.
