In 2025, Armenia, as a donor, is involved in the 13th regular replenishment of the Asian Development Fund (ADF) and the 8th regular replenishment of the Technical Assistance Special Fund of the Asian Development Bank. For this purpose, Armenia will pay the ADF $1 million this year. The respective decision was adopted at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting of the Armenian government.

“Complemented by other sources of financing, the Fund has provided more than $85 billion in soft loans and grants to 36 developing member countries during its existence,” the aforesaid decision states.

Armenia is also included as a donor among the investors in this new, 13th replenishment of the ADF for 2025-2028.

For the 13th replenishment of the ADF, donors have guaranteed a total investment of $4.9 billion, of which $2.5 billion will be on the account of attracting investments from new donors. The remaining $2.4 billion will be financed from other ADF funds.

“Armenia’s continued participation in the replenishment of ADF resources as a donor will be considered as a step towards deepening effective cooperation with the Asian Development Bank. If desired, the Republic of Armenia may participate in the replenishment of ADF resources by way of issuing a simple, interest-free, demand promissory note," the aforementioned decision adds.

The Asian Development Fund, as a preferential lending mechanism of the Asian Development Bank, offers loans at very low interest rates to the bank's poorest members.
