Russia is advising its citizens currently in Israel to leave the country until the security situation stabilizes, Ambassador Anatoly Viktorov said in a televised interview on Russia 24.
“There are several available routes for Russian nationals to return home,” Viktorov stated. He specifically recommended the land crossing near Eilat, which leads into Egypt. “One can cross into Egypt at the Taba border point at any time, then travel to Sharm El Sheikh or Cairo and use Aeroflot flights to return to Russia,” he added, noting that dozens of Russian citizens have already used this route.
The Taba border crossing, located in the southernmost part of Eilat between the Red Sea and the Eilat Mountains, is approximately 10 km south of the city and serves as the main overland passage into Egypt from Israel.
