The Xiaomi SU7 electric sedan officially set a new absolute lap time record of 7 minutes 4.957 seconds for serial EVs at the famous Nurburgring racetrack in Germany, and surpassed not only the previous record—7 minutes 7.55 seconds—set by the Porsche Taycan GT, but also the time shown by the conventionally serial Rimac Nevera—7 minutes 5.298 seconds.
The new record was set by motorsports racing driver Vincent Radermecker at the wheel of the Xiaomi SU7 with a three-engine Ultra modification developing a maximum engine power of 1,548 horsepower.
The aforesaid record was set under the supervision of specially invited inspectors from the German and Austrian TUV technical supervision organization, who monitored compliance with all necessary conditions and officially certified the result.
