Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with several members of the local Armenian community in Istanbul, Turkey, the PM’s office informs.

In his remarks, the PM highlighted the importance of his current working visit to Turkey, and emphasized that it became a reality as a result of the recently activated dialogue with Turkey. He noted the importance of his planned meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and expressed hope that it will give a new impetus to bilateral relations.

According to the Armenian premier, his current visit to Turkey is based on Armenia-Turkey interstate relations, and the ongoing process is an agenda for establishing relations which stems from the interests of both countries. Also, Pashinyan stressed the role of the Armenian community of Turkey in the process of establishing interstate relations and deepening dialogue between Armenia and Turkey.

Subsequently, the Armenian PM answered the questions of those attending the meeting—and which related to Pashinyan's visit to Turkey, steps aimed at establishing peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, regional developments, the "Real Armenia" ideology, and a number of other topics.

As reported earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has arrived in Istanbul, Turkey on a working visit.

In the evening, Pashinyan is expected to meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
