A magnitude 6.5 earthquake struck off the eastern coast of the Philippine Islands at 01:58:08 GMT on Tuesday, the German Geosciences Research Center GFZ said.

 According to initial data, the epicenter of the earthquake was located at 7.97 degrees north latitude and 129.83 degrees east longitude. The source was at a depth of 10.0 kilometers, Xinhua reports.
