The participants and leaders of the movement called "Holy Struggle" planned to carry out terrorist acts and actions aimed at seizing power in Armenia, the Investigative Committee of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“V. G. [i.e. Vazgen Galstanyan, the baptismal name of Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan], having failed to achieve the objective of seizing power in the Republic of Armenia in the manner permitted by the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia [(RA)], set for the movement by several months of his initiation and leadership under the name ‘Holy Struggle,’ since November 2024, has set itself the objective of achieving this objective  in a manner not permitted by the RA Constitution, and in order to achieve this objective, with prior consent with a number of participants in the group, has acquired the necessary means and tools for committing terrorism and seizing power, as well as intentionally created other conditions, thus preparing to usurp power.

Moreover, in order to achieve their criminal objectives, the leaders of the criminal group have used psychological and propaganda tricks, ‘technologies’—reserving the execution of the main illegal actions to ‘adventurers.’

Urgent investigative and other procedural actions are being carried out within the framework of the criminal proceedings initiated on the case,” the Investigative Committee of Armenia added, in particular.
