Officers from the National Security Service (NSS) of Armenia left the residence of Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan a short time ago.

They had packages in their hands, which they confiscated and took away.

They did not say what documents they were taking with them.

Attorney Hovhannes Khudoyan tried to negotiate with an NSS officer and enter the residence, but he was asked to leave the building.

“An investigative operation is underway inside, I have come to participate in that investigative operation, but they are obstructing my professional activities. Let me clarify who is obstructing my professional activities so that I can contact their superiors at the respective address,” Khudoyan said.

Outside, a police officer said that he was told that no unauthorized person shall enter the building.

Earlier, Armenian News-NEWS.am reported that early Wednesday morning, Armenia's law enforcement officers began searches in the homes of supporters of the Holy Struggle movement. They were conducting an operation also at the residence of Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, leader of the Holy Struggle movement.

In addition, searches are being conducted in the homes of several members of the opposition Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Dashnaktsutyun Party, ARF reported.

And the Investigative Committee of Armenia had announced that "the participants and leaders of the movement called ‘Holy Struggle’ had planned to carry out terrorist acts and actions aimed at seizing power in the RA [(Republic of Armenia)]."
