Shirak Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Archbishop of AAC Archbishop Mikael Adjapayan has been transferred to the detention center of the National Security Service of Armenia.

This information was confirmed to Armenian News-NEWS.am by his lawyer Yerem Sargsyan.

A criminal case was initiated against Adjapayan under Article 422 part 2 of the Criminal Code of Armenia (public calls for seizure of power, violation of territorial integrity, renunciation of sovereignty or violent overthrow of the constitutional order).

He did not recognize the charge against him. Ajapayan was arrested for two months.
