Russian presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov commented on the recent events taking place in Armenia in connection with the situation surrounding the Armenian Apostolic Church.
"This is Armenia's internal affair; that’s first. And we [i.e. Russia] do not want to interfere in these internal affairs in any way. Of course, Armenia is a very close country for us. And let's not forget that several million Armenians, who, of course, are following these events with pain, are citizens of the Russian Federation. Many, of course, do not accept how this is happening. So, yes, we are following, but this is Armenia's internal affair," Peskov said in an interview with a well-known Russian journalist.
