Swiss Parliamentarians Erich Vontobel and Lukas Reimann will brief members and staff of the US Congress on the ongoing efforts to ensure the dignified and safe return of Armenians forcibly displaced from Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) to their homeland. The Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) reported this, detailing that the briefing of the Swiss MPs in the US Congress will be held on July 8.

The briefing will also be attended by former Armenian Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian and Christian Solidarity International (CSI) President Dr. John Eibner.

During the briefing, speakers will discuss the work of  the “Swiss Peace Initiative for Nagorno-Karabakh,” an effort to help secure the safe and dignified return of Artsakh’s indigenous Armenian population.

The Capitol Hill briefing follows the May 26 launch of the “Swiss Peace Initiative for Nagorno-Karabakh” in Bern, Switzerland. This initiative stems from Motion No. 24.4259, adopted by both houses of the Swiss Federal Assembly, which mandates the Swiss government to convene a peace forum to facilitate internationally mediated dialogue between Azerbaijan and representatives of the displaced Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh.
