The mother of Russian tourist Aleksandr Vaysero from Yekaterinburg, Russia who was arrested in Azerbaijani capital Baku, told RIA Novosti that there was no contact with her son.

Earlier, Azerbaijani media reported that eight Russian citizens were detained in Baku on Tuesday. They, according to the Azerbaijani side, are connected to drug trafficking from Iran as well as cybercrime, and have been remanded in custody for four months.

According to Yekaterinburg resident Inna Vaysero, her son Aleksandr is among those arrested.

“Of course, there is no contact yet,” she said. According to her, her son had traveled to Baku as a tourist in June.
