In the Turkish province of Izmir as a result of a forest fire killed an elderly man - this is the first confirmed victim of natural fires in the country for this summer. AHaber TV channel reported that.

"Firefighters were able to put out the fire in Manastir village, where flames engulfed several houses. The body of 80-year-old bedridden patient Ibrahim Erkan was found in one of the burned buildings," the report said. 

The fire started on July 1 near the resort of Cesme on the Aegean coast and spread quickly. The fire approached residential houses and residents of at least three villages were evacuated. The Izmir-Ceşme highway was blocked because of the fire, and social networks posted pictures of the blazing road.

In addition, on July 2, a new hotbed of fire was recorded within the city of Antalya, in the Ermenek district. 

According to the latest data, more than 50 thousand people were evacuated in three provinces of Turkey amid ongoing large-scale forest fires.
