We are maintaining contacts with the Azerbaijani side on this issue, including through law enforcement agencies. This was stated by Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova at a briefing on July 9, when asked how Russia assesses the prospects of improving relations with Azerbaijan after the situation around the detention of Russian journalists.

 "We are convinced that all emerging issues should be resolved in a partnership manner using available political and diplomatic channels. 

It is this approach that actually serves the fundamental interests of the peoples of our countries," she said.
