The signing of a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan will help bring stability to the region, Russia supports this process, said Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov.

Commenting on the meeting between the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan in Abu Dhabi, he noted that Moscow welcomes the fact of such direct dialogue.

"We have repeatedly said at various levels that we would welcome the early signing of a peace treaty.

The signing of such an agreement will be a very important factor in bringing predictability, stability, and peace to the region. We fully support this process," Peskov told reporters when asked how the Kremlin views the fact that the negotiation process in Baku and Yerevan is as close as possible to the signing of a peace agreement, according to RIA Novosti.
