YEREVAN. - Convicts of Yerevan’s Erebuni penitentiary have sent a letter to Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan. The convicts joined Felix Gevorgyan’s letter and informed about the injustice shown towards them.
“From the name of those who signed I inform from Erebuni penitentiary that our right of conditional release on parole is frequently violated without reason and it is always said that it is done by the inner order of the president. During the conditional release on parole committee seating we are always refused. It seems they want us to understand that it does not matter whether we have changed or not. Dear Mr. President, I want to know whether you know about the events I have mentioned or not. If yes, please let me know about it in written form, if not, do something against the injustice so we can be released conditionally. We, the convicts, follow your reforms in the justice system very attentively.
Dear Mr. President, we believe you and send this letter on behalf of ten changed convicts. We assure you that we accept our guilt, but everyone makes mistakes and let not that mistake follow us our whole lives. We are useful people for our country,” the letter reads.
