YEREVAN. – Three-division boxing world champion Armenian Vic Darchinyan will fight for another bantamweight crown with Japanese WBC champion Shinshuke Yamanaka. The fight to be held in Tokyo, Boxing Scene reports.
“Though Darchinyan has never fought in Japan, he holds no fear,” Darchinyan’s manager Elias Nassar told adding Japan is the third state yielding to Russia and Armenia, where Vic’s T-shirts are sold, Australian Associated Press reports. “Darchinyan has got a lot of Japanese followers. He loves the style of Japanese fighters, as they are warriors and they come to fight. Vic believes that is the way boxing should be.”
To note, Darchinyan is currently in the U.S., where he has already resumed trainings and looks forward to the fight in Japan.
