The number of Palestinians killed in Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip since October 2023 has exceeded 60,000, this Palestinian enclave's health ministry informed on Telegram.
"The death toll of Israeli aggression since October 7, 2023 has reached 60,034, and the number of injured—145,870," the Gaza health ministry said in a report.
At least 8,800 Palestinians have been killed in the Gaza Strip since the resumption of Israeli military operations on March 18, the Gaza health ministry noted.
It added that the exact number of people trapped under the rubble was unknown.
Also, according to the Gaza health ministry, 1,179 residents died of hunger in this Palestinian enclave during the entire period.
Active fighting in Gaza resumed on March 18, when the Israeli army launched massive strikes on the enclave, ending a ceasefire in place since January.
And on May 18, Israel announced that it had entered the decisive phase of its Operation Gideon's Chariots, which aims to destroy Hamas' infrastructure.
