Germany, France, and the United Kingdom (UK) are discussing the possibility of sending their foreign ministers to Israel next week, the German chancellor said, amid mounting international pressure over the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, AFP reports.

"We will probably ask the three foreign ministers of France, Britain, and Germany to visit Israel together next Thursday and present the position of the three governments," Friedrich Merz said at a joint press conference with Jordan's King Abdullah II in Berlin.

The German chancellor added that two of his country's planes were heading to Jordan and could deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza starting from Wednesday.

Merz said the two A400M aircraft will be refueled in Jordan and then set off on a humanitarian aid mission by the end of this week at the latest—and in coordination with France and Germany.

"This work may only make a small contribution to humanitarian aid, but it sends an important signal: we are here, we are in the region," the German chancellor said.
