Syunik Province will become the “gate” of Armenia’s further development, President Vahagn Khachaturyan stated during a consultation held in Syunik Tuesday.
“If we [i.e. Armenia] can open the ‘gates’ of Syunik, I mean the opportunities of the 43 kilometers, then be truly sure that the future will give us great opportunities in terms of development.
The Crossroads of Peace [project of the Armenian government] is very well perceived by the international community; it is very appealing and visible to everyone. We have not made a great discovery, but we are putting the reality that exists on the table. Also, we are presenting these opportunities in a graphic way. We realize how important these 43 kilometers and Syunik are.
Our objective is to sign the peace agreement [with Azerbaijan] in the nearest times,” the president of Armenia noted.
