The Russian government has instructed the respective agencies to ensure the passage of trucks loaded with grain into Armenia. This shall be carried out through the Upper Lars checkpoint on the Russian-Georgian border, after traffic was suspended on the Georgian military highway due to floods.

“At the request of Armenia, the competent bodies of the Russian Federation have been instructed to take additional measures to organize the passage of trucks loaded with grain from Russia to the Republic of Armenia via Upper Lars, the movement of which was limited due to bad weather and flood. We [i.e. Russia] are making efforts to minimize delays in the supply of grain needed by Armenia,” Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk told reporters.
