By the decision of the Anti-Corruption Court of Armenia, former chairman of the State Revenue Committee (SRC), Vardan Harutyunyan, has detained for two months, his lawyer told reporters outside the aforesaid court.

Harutyunyan had been taken into custody last night.

In response to a query from Armenian News-NEWS.am, the Anti-Corruption Committee had confirmed that a former high-ranking SRC official was taken into custody along the lines of a criminal case being investigated by the committee—and on charges of illegal participation in entrepreneurial activities, anti-competitive activities, and money laundering.

Vardan Harutyunyan had served as the SRC Chairman between 2016 and 2018.
