A telephone conversation was held between Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of Armenia and President Antonio Costa of the European Council of the European Union (EU), the PM's office informs.

The Armenian premier presented the results of the negotiations held in the US capital Washington DC on August 8; in particular, the initialing of the agreement on the establishment of peace and interstate relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the joint petition to the OSCE on the dissolution of its Minsk Group mechanisms, the unblocking of regional communications within the framework of the principles of territorial integrity, sovereignty, and jurisdiction of countries as well as on the basis of reciprocity, and the "Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity" project.

Pashinyan emphasized that the established peace opens up new investment opportunities for the expansion of Armenia-EU cooperation.

The interlocutors discussed the Armenia-EU agenda, too, as well as organizational matters for the European Political Community summit to be held in Armenia in the spring of 2026.
