In some Iranian media outlets and social media, information about the “Zangezur Corridor” is being distorted and interpreted as Iran losing its northern borders, Iranian government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani said at a press conference in Tehran on Tuesday.

According to her, the widely discussed “Zangezur” topic concerns only a small part of Iran’s northern territory.

She emphasized that Iran pays great attention to restoring stability in the region, preserving the territorial integrity of countries, and protecting their sovereignty.

Mohajerani added that Iran has never welcomed the presence of foreign forces in neighboring countries. According to her, the situation is under constant surveillance, and the best solution is to ensure stability with the forces of the region.

The Iranian government spokesperson said that preserving the territorial integrity of countries is Iran's principled position. She noted that Iran does not welcome the presence of foreign troops in neighboring countries and believes that the region should ensure peace on its own.
