Ukraine is ready to discuss an air truce with Russia, said Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to the Chief of Staff of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in an interview with the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera.

According to Podolyak, Washington has proposed a complete air truce, as well as not to carry out missile strikes and drone attacks.

"None of these scenarios has been accepted by Russia. Air strikes are a key tool through which Moscow exerts psychological pressure on Ukraine. (...) Russia is unlikely to want to be deprived of the possibility of massive use of aviation and drones. However, Ukraine is ready to discuss this, is ready to discuss this scenario, and considers it a realistic initial phase of negotiations," Podolyak said.
