The tragically worded questions raised about the text of the peace agreement with Azerbaijan have been completely nullified after its publicizing. Davit Khudatyan, the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia, stated this at a press briefing on Thursday.

Khudatyan noted with regret that before the publicizing of this document, the Armenian opposition had expressed doubts. According to him, now the same story is being repeated in connection with the process of unblocking of regional communications. Khudatyan said that the Armenian authorities will not allow the same story to be repeated because the main political principles, in his conviction, have been clarified.

“It is about four principles that were declared by the prime minister of Armenia, as well as the presidents of the US and Azerbaijan. The most important political issue worded in the document is the preservation of territorial integrity, sovereignty, jurisdiction and the principle of reciprocity. If someone calls the unblocking of roads based on these four main principles a ‘corridor,’ then it is hypocrisy,” the minister added.

Khudatyan asked not to call the signing of these documents, especially in the case of such a representative composition, simply a “document.” In his assessment, the document is of key importance for the sustainable peace, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Armenia.

“Previously, ominous comments were made about the text of the peace agreement. But after the publicizing of the text, it turned out that there is nothing terrible, tragic, or ominous for Armenia in it. We [i.e. the Armenian authorities] are ready for such comments to be made about this document as well, until the time comes to present the details of the roadmap for its implementation,” Khudatyan emphasized.

The official said that if necessary, the Armenian authorities will definitely comment on technical issues in the same way as the text of the peace agreement was publicized.

The minister assured that all risks have been calculated.

"Since it is assumed that there will be several types of infrastructure—energy, transport, and communications, these technical issues will be fully discussed by the working groups, including the specific sectors, other technical parameters that the groups will develop, and then make the necessary statements," concluded Davit Khudatyan.
