Ukraine will promise to buy $100 billion of American weapons financed by Europe in a bid to obtain US guarantees for its security after a peace agreement with Russia, according to a document the Financial Times (FT) has seen, FT reports.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made the offer to US President Donald Trump during the meeting with him and European leaders in Washington on Monday.

In addition, the offer assumes that Ukraine and the US will sign a $50 billion deal with Ukrainian companies to produce drones. But the document does not specify which part of the drone deal will be purchases and which will be investments.

The aforementioned document does not specify also what specific weapons Ukraine plans to order from the US as part of the proposed deal. However, Kyiv has made it clear that it intends to purchase at least 10 Patriot air defense systems, as well as some other missiles and military equipment.
